This year’s “Big Idea” is “Capture and Leverage the Lean Advantage.”
We encourage submissions from the Owner, Designer, General Contractor, Trade and Academic Communities.
The planning team is particularly interested in presentations on these key focus areas:
Lean Interventions, Challenges & Transformations
Share your stories of challenging projects/processes/culture that your teams have encountered, what Lean techniques you leveraged both successfully and unsuccessfully. We are looking for direct stories and examples of challenges people faced, their successes and lessons learned.
Leveraging Lean in Planning & Design
How have you and your teams leveraged Lean techniques in the Planning & Design phases for your project(s)?
Lean stories that were driven by trade contractors, site superintendents and other in-field staff (production, safety, quality, etc.).
The Business Case for Lean
What is the business case for Lean implementation, how has Lean changed profitability or value creation (predictability, risk mitigation, employee retention, client service) at your project(s) or organization.
Technology & New Techniques in Lean
What technology, new techniques and innovation (i.e. 4D/5F BIM, safety, modular construction, etc.) have you leveraged to enable or enhance Lean implementation on projects.
However, we encourage submissions on any relevant topics in Lean Design and Construction.
Tips for Abstract success: The abstracts submitted for the 2017 congress will be evaluated by a multi-disciplinary team of reviewers. Preference will be given to presentations that, align with our “Big Idea”, feature owner participants, exhibit presenters from multiple parties and provide quantifiable results. Presentation focus should be on teaching and enhancing Lean community knowledge and should not be used as an opportunity to sell a product or service. Preference will be given to presentations where the lead presenter is a corporate member of LCI.
LCI sincerely appreciates the willingness of professionals to share their time and experience. Based on past experience, the following policies have been established to ensure that the LCI Congress runs as smoothly as possible again this year:
